Comprehensive Benefits Overview

UA Local 50 offers an unparalleled benefits package that is entirely CONTRACTOR CONTRIBUTED, meaning none of these benefits come out of the workers’ paychecks. This ensures that members take home their full wages while enjoying robust health, retirement and financial security benefits.

Contractor Contributions:
● $11.90/hour (Insurance)
● $1.50/hour (HRA)
● $9.36/hour (Local Pension)
● $1.65/hour (National Pension)
● $7/hour (Retirement)

Basic Insurance Plan:
● $400 deductible
● 80/20 percent co-pay
● $1,200 family deductible

Journeyman wages start at $51.00 / hour, and when factoring in contractor-funded benefits, the total hourly compensation is valued at $84 / hour.

Anyone interested in applying for our apprenticeship program must:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must complete and return the apprenticeship application within 10 business days with the following documentation:
- State Birth Certificate for proof of age
- High School grade transcript or GED certificate and official report of test results
- Social Security Card
- Drivers License or Picture I.D.
- Military transfer or discharge Form DD-214, if applicable
Must appear for Mechanical Aptitude Test when notified. Notification is sent by Certified Mail.
